This film demonstrates both individual and group art therapy for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We first see an actual individual art therapy session with a woman who has been a long-time patient of Dr. Carole Kunkle-Miller. Throughout the session Dr. Kunkle-Miller guides the client in selecting materials and then in creating a work of art while having a conversation about her family.

We also see a group art therapy session with five participants and the facilitating art therapist, Ruth Abraham. The session is in both Hebrew with English subtitles. The begins with a discussion about the work of famous artists, before segueing into a conversation between about participants’ artwork. We see members in a guided in an individual art activity. After, the group views each other’s work they are assisted in providing comments on their own work and of their peers.

Both sessions offer a glimpse of what it is like to work with people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
