Continuing education requirements for Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors and MFTs

What are the requirements for my license?

Psychologist: 36 hours every three years. In the first period, licensees must complete 2 hours on Child Abuse Identification and Reporting

MFT: 36 hours every three years. A maximum of 12 may be self-study.

LPC: 36 hours every three years. A maximum of 12 may be self-study. 

LBSW/LMSW/LICSW: 36 hours every three years. A maximum of 12 may be self-study.

What are Psychotherapy.net's continuing education provider details?

Psychologists: American Psychological Association (APA).  Psychotherapy.net is approved by the American Psychological Association, provider #1712, to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Psychotherapy.net maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Certified Counselors (NBCC): Psychotherapy.net has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No 6239. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Psychotherapy.net is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Addiction Counselors: Psychotherapy.net is approved to offer Continuing Education credits by the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).  Provider # 90664.

Social Workers: Psychotherapy.net, provider #1119, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Psychotherapy.net maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 10/5/2021-10/5/2024. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval
