What are the requirements for my license?

Psychologist: 40 hours every two years, 30 of which may be completed by home study. 4 hours must include topics related to domestic violence every two years, and 1 hour must be on topics concerning prescription opioid drugs,

MFT: 40 hours every two years. 5 of the 40 must be in ethics, and 3 must be in cultural competence.

LPC:  40 hours  every two years. 5 of the 40 must be in ethics, and 3 must be in cultural competence.

LBSW/LMSW/LICSW: 40 hours every two years. 5 of the 40 must be in ethics, and 3 must be in cultural competence.


Is Psychotherapy.net's continuing education approved by my licensing board?

Psychotherapy.net is an APA approved CE provider (details below) and the New Jersey State Board of Psychological Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.

Psychotherapy.net is an NBCC and NAADAC approved CE provider (details below) and the New Jersey Professional Counselor Examiners Committee accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved.

Psychotherapy.net is an APA and NBCC approved CE provider (details below) and the New Jersey State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.


What are Psychotherapy.net's continuing education provider details?

Psychologists: American Psychological Association (APA).  Psychotherapy.net is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Psychotherapy.net maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Certified Counselors (NBCC): Psychotherapy.net has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No 6239. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Psychotherapy.net is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Addiction Counselors: Psychotherapy.net is approved to offer Continuing Education credits by the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).  Provider # 90664.
